About

One person, on purpose.

SpecialAIzed Flow is a founder-led practice shaped by eighteen years in IT service operations, most of it responsible for other people's production environments rather than advising from beside them.

Small, observable systems over a pile of impressive tools.

For a new business, good infrastructure is usually unglamorous: named ownership, clear recovery custody, supported defaults, a small number of tools, readable instructions, and proof that the important path was tested.

Claims stay precise. A restored file is a restored file—not proof of every disaster scenario. An evidence workbook helps a founder prepare for questions; it does not constitute an insurance, legal, audit, or certification opinion.

The goal is a foundation the customer can keep without being forced into an ongoing support relationship.

Background

Where the method came from.

Mac and Linux service record
Six years on a managed-services service desk (2013–2019), joining as the primary Mac and Linux technician and promoted to lead it; the team grew from five to fifteen across two acquisitions and supported about one hundred managed-service clients, including provincial government agencies
Service operations
Ran managed-services delivery organizations of twenty to fifty people, owning service levels, margin, and the operational reporting behind them
Vulnerability management
Built and ran automated patch and vulnerability remediation programs at managed-service scale, including auto-remediation of the highest severity classes
Regulated programs
Delivered airport border-control and passenger-processing systems with CBSA, US Customs and Border Protection, Transport Canada, and CATSA
Identity and recovery
Tenant, identity, endpoint, and backup work as an operator, including the restore tests most environments have never actually run

Two things follow from that history. Delivery is judged on evidence rather than on assurances, because service levels get audited and questionnaires get answered. And scope is stated in writing before work starts, because unbounded work is how small engagements consume the margin that was supposed to pay for them.

This is deliberately a one-person practice. It is why the scope is narrow, why nothing here promises 24/7 coverage, and why every engagement ends at a handoff the client can operate alone. That said, there is an extensive network of contracted specialists available when work requires domain knowledge beyond the core practice — engineers for Windows migrations, firmware or boot-level debugging, custom integrations, and other domains where depth beats breadth. When that kind of resource is needed, it is sourced, scoped, and supervised as part of the same quoted engagement.
